CRA advises Lesaffre on yeast extract acquisitions and global merger clearances

CRA supported Lesaffre in its acquisitions of DSM-Firmenich’s yeast extract business and its joint venture with Zilor Group. Lesaffre acquired a 70% stake in Biorigin, Zilor’s yeast extract based in Brazil, involving merger control clearances in Brazil, Germany and the UK. The authorities investigated the market definition for savory ingredients and feed additives, market shares, and competitive assessment for these transactions based on input prepared by CRA.
