Christian Michel

Principal

Christian Michel is a Principal at Charles River Associates’ European Competition Practice in London. His work covers mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance investigations, antitrust litigation and damage estimations.

Christian has extensive experience in the development and use of econometric models and in the application of behavioural economics in a market context. He has advised clients in digital and multi-sided markets (e.g. privacy matters, music streaming, gaming, social media), in tech and innovative industries (e.g. cloud computing, AI, IT services), and on a range of work on payments, pharmaceuticals and automobiles.

His empirical and theoretical work on industrial organization, competition policy and consumer protection has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the RAND Journal of Economics, Games and Economic Behavior and the International Journal of Industrial Organization.

Prior to joining CRA, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics, where he still teaches industrial organization to competition master students.

He is also a faculty member in the professional course on quantitative techniques applied to competition law investigations offered by the Barcelona School of Economics.
